GANGTOK, 06 Apr: Sikkim Sangram Parishad president, Nar
Bahadur Bhandari, on Saturday, officially announced his, and his party’s
support to the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha in the upcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha
elections.
SSP is not fielding any candidate in the upcoming elections,
which will be the first since 1979 when Mr. Bhandari is not a candidate for the
polls.
Addressing a press conference yesterday, Mr. Bhandari stated
that the party was not fielding any candidates in a conscious move to leave the
opposition votes undivided for SKM. It may be recalled that shortly after the
elections were announced, SSP had invited applications from prospective
candidates for party tickets.
