GANGTOK, 03 Apr: The Engage Quiz program of Gangtok Municipal
Corporation supported by 24 Hours Inspired was held at Neil Tara Academy in
Arithang and Happy Hours School, Lal Market on 30 March.
As per a press release, the quiz program was attended by students of
classes IV, V and VI from both the schools. The intervention reached out to 150
students from these two schools. The students were briefed on the aspects of
solid waste management and also inspired to reduce, reuse and recycle.
The program was highly appreciated by the teachers and the management
of the schools and thanked the GMC and the team for bringing interventions like
these to junior schools, the release mentions.
The Engage Quiz will be held in 16 junior high schools falling under
the jurisdiction of GMC and is part of its initiative to spread awareness among
the young regarding solid waste management.
