Gangtok, 08 Apr [IPR]: The District Election Officer cum Returning Officer, East, has informed the general public, specially all the contesting candidates and political parties, that all forms of political campaigning shall stop 48 hours before the end of the poll as per the instruction of the Election Commission of India.
Accordingly, any campaigning by candidates or political parties shall not be extended beyond 5 pm of 10 April, 2014. Anybody (candidate/ political parties or cadres) found engaged in any type of political campaign or canvassing beyond 5 pm on 10th April shall be dealt as per the law and guidelines of the Election Commission of India.
