GANGTOK, 23 Mar: Three Sikkim
Democratic Front candidates filed their nominations for the upcoming elections
on Saturday. Hishey Lachungpa for Gangtok constituency [BL], Udai Lama for
Arithang constituency and Menlom Lepcha for Martam-Rumtek constituency [BL]
submitted their nominations at the office of the District Collector, East who
is also the Returning Officer, East Sikkim.
Now, only three SDF candidates are
yet to file their nomination papers – Bhim Dhungel from Rhenock, DR Thapa from
Upper Burtuk and Palden Lachungpa for the Sangha seat. Meanwhile, apart from
the SDF’s no other candidates have filed their nomination papers yet. The last
date for submission of nomination papers is 26 March.
