GANGTOK, 05 Feb: Sikkim Krantikari Morcha [SKM] has accused ruling party supporters of pelting stones at SKM vehicles on Tuesday night at Marchak and Lumchok-Mumrang. The party has given a 24-hour ultimatum to the administration to arrest the culprits failing which they will take to the streets in protest.
SKM supporters were returning to their respective homes from the party’s foundation day celebration at Jorethang last evening.
In a press release, SKM has alleged that the accused in the Marchak incident have not been arrested even after an FIR has been lodged against the accused whom the party has named.
Regarding the incident at Lumchok-Mumrang under Melli constituency, the party has accused a panchayat president and his supporters belonging to SDF of pelting stones at SKM vehicles. Stating that Jorethang Police immediately released the accused, SKM has also accused the police of sheltering SDF supporters.
