GANGTOK, 05 Feb: Sikkim Democratic Front has ridiculed the
invitation of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha president, PS Tamang [Golay], to the
Chief Minister Pawan Chamling for an open debate.
The party has alleged that Mr Tamang is only copying the
Chief Minister, who, the party highlights, has always called for debates on
various issues concerning the state.
An SDF press release claims that the CM has made numerous
appeals for debate on social, economic and other issues but no opposition
leader has dared take up the challenge so far. Terming Mr. Tamang’s invitation
as “comic”, SDF has suggested that the SKM president first prove his mettle and
work his way up by taking on a ward panchayat president following which the party would take it to
the next level.
