SKM car rally halts at Upper Dzongu

MANGAN, 27 Jan: Sikkim Krantikari Morcha’s motorcade touring the State reached North Sikkim today where they were given a warm welcome at Kabi Lungtsok by the party’s general secretary North, Ugen Nedup Bhutia along with president North District, Tashi Thendup Lepcha, Secretary legal, Tshering Wangyal Bhutia, Secretary Programme, Chewang Jigmee Lepcha and other supporters from North Sikkim.
The ‘parivartan’ rally of the SKM, which started from Tashi View Point in Gangtok, covered Kabi, Phodong, Namok and Mangan. During the rally, pamphlets and invitations for the Foundation Day celebration of SKM on 04 February were distributed.
The rally heading for Chungthang was not allowed beyond the Toong Check Post since the group did not have the necessary permits. The rally then halted for the night at Namprikdang in Upper Dzongu.
