GANGTOK, 10 Jan: One person was arrested by the Rangpo police on 09 January at the Rangpo Check Post, when he was found to be in possession of contraband substances.
Prabin Pradhan [32], resident of Dara Goan, Tadong was arrested by the Rangpo police for illicit trafficking of contraband substances from Siliguri to Sikkim. Around 5 p.m. the police personnel at the Rangpo Check Post informed about the above individual who was found transiting substantial cache of contraband substance in his Maruti Wagon R [SK-TC-0088]. The search of his vehicle led to the recovery and seizure of 26 bottles of Boirex cough syrup.
The accused person was arrested and a case under section 7 (a) (b)/9 (d)/14 of SAD Act has been registered against him at the Rangpo Police Station.
