NAMPRIKDANG, 09 Jan: The Manik team of Upper Dzongu have won the Namsoong Football Tournament’2014. Today in the final match they beat Singhikpa by a margin of 6 goals to 2 thus registering an emphatic win to lift the trophy and cash prize of Rs. 40,000/. Singhilpa took home Rs.25,000/- as the runners up team. The highest scorer cum man of the series was awarded to Shanti ram Luitel of Manik team and the best goalkeeper was awarded to Tenzing Chopel of Kazor.
The final match had area MLA cum power minister, Sonam Gyatso Lepcha as a chief guest accompanied by Zilla Adhakshya North, Ms Anguli Lepcha as a special guest. The function was also attended by DC North CP Dhakal, Joint Director HRDD North, Sonam Lepcha, SDM Dzongu, Jigmee Bhutia, panchayat and zilla members, members of Mangan Nagar panchayat, departmental officials and people from all walks of life.
