NAMCHI, 18 Dec: A group of SDF youth from Lingmoo have accused the police personnel posted at Yangang Outpost of failing to perform their duties properly.
According to the group, they were escorting some senior citizens back to their homes after the day-long pilgrimage tour organized by the party on Tuesday when they got into a tussle with another group of youth at Yangyang. They contend that at around 7:30 pm, some youth stopped their vehicle as they were returning.
The group of SDF youth has alleged that some persons of the other group were carrying weapons [khukuris] and that the Yangyang police personnel did not take any action. The police refused to lodge an FIR and instead abused the SDF group, they allege. The group further claims that the police personnel were in an inebriated state at the time.
