It is indeed an amazingly pleasant news of His Holiness the XVIIth Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje coming to Sikkim. It is a dream being realized for thousands of devotees in Sikkim and around the world. This is an occasion which calls for a united stand from each and every person, political party, organization etc. But unfortunately, this issue is being now brought to the forefront for all the wrong reasons. Why should we politicize this religious issue? This is sending a wrong message to devotees around the world who are all praying for His Holiness to step on the soil of Beyul Demazong, the land of his official seat at Rumtek.
Therefore, this is an appeal to all political parties to unite to make this special occasion a befitting one sans controversies or accusations. We must all remember that Karmapa belongs to Sikkim and Sikkim belongs to Karmapa.
