GANGTOK, 16 Dec: A constituency-level badminton tournament will begin from Tuesday at SNT Colony, Tadong, Daragaon. The tournament will be inaugurated by Minister, Urban Development and Housing Development Department, DB Thapa. A total of 50 players in three categories are participating in this three-day tourney.
The constituency level tournament is being organized by EPCS Church (Greendale), Tadong. The trophy is donated by the family members of Late Elder TB Rai with assistance from Tadong ward Councilor, Bhaskar Basnett.
The tournament has three categories, Men’s singles, Men’s doubles and Veterans’ doubles. Dup Tshering Lepcha, a member of the organizing committee informs that the objective behind the tournament is to spread the message ‘Avoid Drugs and Save Life’.
Mr. Lepcha further mentioned that MLA Menlom Lepcha will be present as the chief guest for the finals of the tournament.
