CM meets students selected for NDA coaching

GANGTOK, 18 Dec [IPR]: Chief Minister Pawan Chamling met the 24 students selected for NDA Coaching 2013 batch at his official residence Mintogang here today.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister urged the students to focus their time and energy on studies during the coaching period. While informing the selected candidates about the various initiatives of the State government for the youth of the state, the Chief Minister urged them to seize the opportunities provided by the state and build their careers.
Offering his best wishes to the candidates for the upcoming NDA examination, the CM asked them to set an example and make the state proud.
Earlier, Secretary Rajya Sainik Board, Colonel [retd.] DN Bhutia, while briefing the Chief Minister informed that the selected students will leave for the coaching center in New Delhi on 22 December and the 45-day coaching will begin on 23 December.
A press release informs that the batch consists of 24 boys with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics background with high scoring percentage ranging from 75% to 96% in CBSE/ ICSE exam.
According to the Rajya Sainik Board Secretary, the process of motivation cum shortlisting of students commenced in November when 369 students were initially shortlisted based on the Personal Information Questionnaires (PIQ) submitted by students.
Col Bhutia informs that those who are appearing for the Class XII Board exam have not been taken on board since it is important that they focus on the board exams and can opt for NDA coaching later. The counseling for parents and students was conducted at Rajya Sainik Board complex on 15 December.
