Black Cats treat Kingston Destitute Home kids to picnic

GANGTOK, 02 Dec: Black Cat troops, the army detachment posted in Sikkim, treated children of Kingston Destitute Home, Rhenock, to a picnic on 01 December. This initiative, an official press release underlines, is part of the Indian army’s efforts to contribute to the “upliftment of the residents of the area and create a spirit of bonhomie”.
“The aim of this picnic was to express gratitude to the locals for the support extended by them in the various endeavors of the Indian Army,” the release states.
46 children from the destitute home were taken to Lampokhari at Aritar for the picnic by the unit. While there, they were treated to competitions like painting, story writing and musical chairs and a lunch along the shores of the lake.
