GANGTOK, 16 Dec: Sikkim Amateur Athletic Association [SAAA] has announced plans to hold the 22nd Sikkim Half Marathon on 24 December in collaboration with the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department as part of the Winter Carnival celebrations here.
The event has three categories - Open Category [21 Kms Men & Women], Under 15 yrs [15 Kms. Boys & Girls] and Under 12 yrs [10 Kms for Boys & Girls].
An SAAA press release issued by its president DIG-Range, Dr. MS Tuli, informs that cash prizes of more than Rs. 1.5 lakh will be given out to the winners of the various categories.
The marathon will take off from Paljor Stadium. The reporting time has been set for 6:30 AM at the venue on 24 December 2013. The entry forms are available at Oswal Corporation, New Market, Gangtok and the last date of submission of entry forms is 21 December 2013.
