GANGTOK, 28 Oct: Two persons were arrested by the Melli Police Monday morning when they were found in possession of a sizeable consignment of contraband substances.
At around 10 a.m., during routine vehicle checking at the Melli Check Post, Satish Agarwal of Singtam Bazaar and Prakash Pradhan of Saunay, Singtam who were traveling in a Bolero [SK-04P-2028] coming from Namchi and going to Singtam were caught with 1,200 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon and 577 bottles of Lupicof cough syrup recovered from their vehicle by the Melli police.
As per the accused, the contraband substances were worth Rs. 25,000 which they had brought from Siliguri, West Bengal. Both of them have been arrested and a case under section 14 of SAD Act has been registered against them at the Melli Police Station.
