Limboo film ‘Keba Kokma’ premieres at Manan Kendra REBYNA RANA

GANGTOK, 06 Oct: The premiere show of Limboo feature film, ‘Keba KoKma’, was held at Manan Kendra, Development Area today which was organized by the Triveni Sang [Gangtok].
Speaker, Sikkim Legislative Assembly, KT Gyalsten, was present as the chief guest today. The Speaker felicitated the film’s crew; Devi Limboo [actor cum singer], Sushila Sawaden [actor], Deepraj Rai [singer], Dhanman Lepcha [actor], Imang Setli [singer], Ranbir Limboo [producer], and Ugen Chopel [director].
President of Triveni Sang, Suncha Angbembe, informed that shooting for the film had started in 2011 and has been shot mostly in rural Nepal. The film bagged the ‘Public Choice Award’ at the Indigenous Film Festival held in 2012 in Nepal along with other awards at the ‘15th International Award Baghdad Film Festival’ held at Iraq in 2013 and ‘South Asian Film Festival’ in 2013.
Pointing out that art has no caste, the Speaker stressed on preserving one’s identity, language and culture. “Leadership is not something you do to people, but it is something you do with people”, said Mr Gyalsten.
The guest of honour, Minister for Roads and Bridges Department, RB Subba said that, though Triveni Sangh is yet to be registered as an organisation, the initiatives as well as efforts which they have taken up have been commendable. The film, he stated, would help people, especially the youth, learn about Limboo culture.
The function was also attended by the former Secretary, Jagat Subba, officials, members of Triveni Sangh, film crew, students, including general public.
