GANGTOK, 24 Oct: President of the BJP Sikkim’s youth wing, Shanti Sharma, has welcomed former MLA PS Tamang’s [Golay] recent statement encouraging women to aspire for the post of Chief Minister.
“Sikkimese people including I, eagerly wait for the day when the most educated, able, visionary deserving woman with utmost caliber and farsightedness would be declared as the Chief Ministerial candidate”, she has stated in a press release.
Women’s empowerment till date exists just as an idea but this kind of political development would in the actual sense make Sikkimese women empowered in all aspects, she adds.
