GANGTOK, 25 Sept: Sikkim Krantikari Morcha [SKM] held a constituency-level meeting for Daramdin constituency at Sombaria Bazaar today. The meeting was chaired by party advisor, NT Bhutia and former Panchayat president, DK Chettri and had party vice-president, Birbal Subba as the chief guest.
An SKM release informs that during the meeting a constituency-level committee was formed with Manjit Lepcha as the president, Dhan Bahadur Subba as vice-president, Dilli Ram Sharma as general secretary, Mingma Sherpa as assistant secretary, Om Prakash Dhungel as publicity secretary, Lal Bahadur Chettri as assistant publicity secretary, Dev Kumar Gurung as treasurer, Ram Kumar Pradhan as assistant treasurer, Ramesh Gurung as youth convener assisted by Mangal Dhoj Subba as vice-convener, Devlata Chettri as women’s wing convener assisted by Indra Kala Gurung as vice-convener.
The release also informs that 110 people were inducted as members of the constituency-level committee who also pledged loyalty to the party. After the formation of the constituency level committee, all party workers were urged to play an active role in the grand welcome function for PS Tamang [Golay] on 06 October. People from every ward in the constituency were requested to go to Gangtok to welcome Mr Golay.
The chief guest Mr Subba alleged that the ruling party has been giving false assurances to the Sikkimese people.
The meeting was also addressed by publicity secretary, Jacob Khaling, West district convener secretary, Birendra Tamling, DR Sharma, Madhukar Sewa, Tika Hang Subba and others.
