GANGTOK, 18 Sept: Residents of Sundergaon, local taxi drivers and members of Samaj Kalyan Sangh of Lower Daragaon, Tadong celebrated Bishwakarma puja for the first time on Tuesday. The puja pandal was set up in the house of Birbal Rai of Sundergaon, above Manipal Referral Hospital. Besides the normal puja, the Pandit also performed pujas for all vehicles belonging to the residents of the area.
The puja was also graced by the area councilor, Bhaskar Basnet while bhajans were also performed by Sai Samiti in the evening.
Today, the members of the organizing committee thanked Mr. Rai for providing the venue for the puja and expressed their gratitude for his support and grand success of the puja. The committee has decided to organize the puja on a larger scale next year.
