GANGTOK, 03 Feb: National Sikkimese Bhutia Organisation [NASBO] has welcomed the cabinet clearance and the Government of Sikkim’s decision to scrap both the Lethang as well as Ting Ting Hydro Electric Projects slated over the Rathongchu River in West Sikkim.
NASBO has further requested the Government of Sikkim to issue necessary notifications to this effect, in a press release issued by its president, Sonam Kaleon today. The release also demands the scrapping of the Tashiding HEP.
“We are convinced that good sense prevails in the Government while we would congratulate the government when it issues necessary notifications to the above effect”, the release further states.
