ICDS Dzongu meets to discuss lack of on field coordination

MANGAN, 08 Jan:  The Department of ICDS, Dzongu organized a coordination meeting at BAC, Passingdang on 07 Jan which was attended by Zilla Adhyaksha (N), Khamsoom Lepcha as the chief guest, along with CDPO, Dzongu, HL Bhutia, Chairman NDMU, Choden Lepcha, Panchayat President, Samdup Ugen Lepcha, Supervisor, Netuk Lepcha, ICDS mothers and adolescent girls.

The CDPO, Dzongu in her address said that the department was not satisfied with the Panchayat and Health department, as a lack of coordination on field has been observed for the past two years. A meeting between lady panchayats, Health department staff, ASHA, Anganwadi workers and ICDS staff is an immediate requirement for better implementation of ICDS programmes in Dzongu, she mentioned.
She also informed about small family schemes, its implementation and also thanked the Chief Minister for promotion and upgradation of salary of ICDS mothers, on behalf of all ICDS mothers. The ICDS mothers also imparted information on the objectives and services of ICDS.
The chief guest in his address appreciated Dzongu CDPO’s dedication towards her work but also highlighted the department’s lack of coordination in field work.  Ward panchayat, health department staff and ICDS mothers should coordinate better in the implementation of the ICDS schemes and programmes, he added.
At the end of the programme, a set of clothes were distributed to girl children by the chief guest.
