GANGTOK, 01 Dec: A Sikkim Amateur Boxing Association team is leaving to represent the State at the 58th Senior Men’s National Boxing Championship being held in Tamil Nadu from 05 to 10 December.
The pugilists representing Sikkim are: Madan Rai, Anoj Pradhan, Pappu Tamang, Passang Sherpa, Prem Gurung and Kamal Karki. They are being accompanied by coach Ganesh Basnett and have Arjuna awardee, Deputy Director, Sports & Youth Affairs Department Jas Lall Pradhan as team manager.
A SABA press release issued by its working president, Prawin Gurung, informs that SABA sponsored a two week long coaching camp in Gangtok under the direct supervision of Jas Lall Pradhan to prepare the Sikkim team.
