GANGTOK, 11 Dec: Total 10 beneficiaries under Martam-Rumtek constituency received milching cows from the Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Dept. yesterday at a special function held at Sang Bazaar, informs a press release. The cows were handed over by the chief guest, Chairman, Sikkim Poultry Development Board, PK Pradhan.
The beneficiaries are Purna Bahadur Karki (Pattim), Man Maya Chettri (Chucha), Devi Maya Sharma (Martam), Shanti Chettri (Nazitam), Chandra Maya Chettri (Pattim), Shiv Kumar Giri (Byong), Kaziman Sunar and Purnima Pokhrel (Jingla Masha), Sudip Pradhan (Phegyong), Kaviram Maidley (Lingtam).
The chief guest and the panchayat president, Ugen Bhutia appealed to the beneficiaries to supply the milk produced by these cows to the Sikkim Milk Union and take the best possible benefits through it, the release informs.
Also present at the programme were Secretary, AH, LF&VS, DP Sharma, Joint Director (East), Dr. RK Tamang, Superintendent (SVH), Dr. BM Chettri, Senior Inspector, Veterinary Dispensary, Sang, KB Chettri.
