GANGTOK, 03 Nov: The Nodal Department (DESM&E) implementing the Unique Identification programme in Sikkim conducted a sensitization programme in Pakyong Block Administration Center on 02 Nov, informs a press release.
The panchayat raj institution level sensitization programme was conducted by the officers of the Nodal Department and Block Development Officer of Pakyong constituency. At present, the Department of Economics, Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation has commenced UID enrolment in East, West and South districts.
The sensitization workshop was held in Pakyong BAC in order to sensitize the residents of the importance of UID and to chalk out an enrollment plan, the release informs. The enrollment team will cover all gram panchayats units under the jurisdiction of the BAC.
The workshop was attended by the panchayats of Pacheykhani, Amba, Pakyong, Changey Senti, Aho Yangtam and Namcheybong gram panchayat units and residents of Parakha.
