SU team visits Soreng B. Ed College

GANGTOK, 22 Nov: Vice Chancellor, Sikkim University, Prof. Mahendra P. Lama, who is on a tour of colleges around Sikkim along with his team, visited Govt. B.Ed College at Soreng, West Sikkim, on Monday, informs a press release.

The Principal, Dr. Bimal Rai, welcoming the SU team, presented a brief report on the college, detailing the results of the last Semester which had 96 students and a pass percentage of 100%, with one student obtaining 92% marks. His report also focussed on the various activities that the students and faculty of the college were involved in.
There were various presentations on many important themes and topics by the Sikkim University members. The SU team highlighted and informed about the various facilities and activities of the university.
In the experience sharing session, student representative Kyondit Lepcha made a strong plea for more teachers and other facilities in the college, the release mentions.
At the end, the VC, Prof Lama, addressed the gathering and praised the college authorities and students of the college for its achievements in a short span of two years of its existence. He further went on to speak on the vision of the University in making Sikkim the ‘knowledge capital of the world’, the release adds.
