NAMCHI, 10 Nov: Multi Purpose Co-operative Societies of South Sikkim have joined hands to help the earthquake victims of the18 September tremor.
The Multi Purpose Co-operative Societies of Yangyang, Lingee, Lingmoo, Salghari, Namphing, Ramyang, Turuk, Rongbul, Bikmat. Sumbuk, Kartikey, Mellidara, Polok-Borong, Namchi, Phalidara, Rateypani, Turung, Niyamangzing, Sripatham, Nagi-Pamphok and Samatar contributed their respective amounts taking the total amount to Rs. 10,000 and this was deposited today at the Namchi branch of Central Bank of India in the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
Indian Red Cross Society distributes relief materials at Nandok
GANGTOK, 09 Nov: A team of the Indian Red Cross Society, Sikkim Branch Office, left with relief materials for Upper Nandok and Lower Nandok, East Sikkim yesterday.
The team along with two volunteers and the office secretary proceeded towards Nandok with15 kitchen sets and 15 shelter kits. The team members along with local volunteers and Ward President, Rajesh Rai, identified 15 families. The relief materials were distributed to these families following a demonstration on the use of the materials.
