GANGTOK, 06 Nov: The Sadar police has been clamping down on drug peddlers in the capital of late and following the arrest of one person on Friday, 4 November, the police made yet another arrest on 5 November.
The arrested is informed to be Norbu Sherpa, 25 years of age and residing temporarily at Namnam. This is the third time that Norbu has been apprehended on the count of peddling substances of abuse. He is informed to have been convicted by the courts earlier and is presently undergoing trial for another similar charge. This time the police, searching his rooms found him to be in possession of 1076 tablets of spamo proxyvon. Norbu has been charged under SADA. Just a day earlier the police had arrested Anil Rai while he was dealing in such substances from inside his taxi vehicle at the Deorali Choerten complex.
