Majhitar residents form ‘Majhitar Samaj Kalyan Samity’

MAJHITAR, 28 Nov: Residents of Majhitar near Rangpo have come together to form the ‘Majhitar Samaj Kalyan Samity’, a social organization to educate the public on their civic responsibilities and promote the co-operative movement in order to sort out social problems.
This was decided in a meeting held at the residence of one Biray Majhi near SMIT which was presided over by retired Police Inspector and resident of Lower Majhitar, Tikaram Pradhan. The meeting, which was conducted by Suresh Lama, was also attended by Dr. DS Tewari, DK Pradhan, Deoki Pradhan, Bir Bdr Majhi, Maya Cintury, Ranjana Subba and Bivek Cintury.
Dr DS Tewari and Suresh Lama addressed the meeting, highlighting the need for an organization at Lower Majhitar for its development.
 A working committee was formed with Maya Cintury as the president, Biray Majhi as vice president, Rajesh Majhi as general secretary and Purna Majhi as treasurer. The advisory committee has Dr DS Tewari, Suresh Lama,TR Pradhan, DK Pradhan, Bivek Cintury and Deoki Pradhan. The Youth wing of the organization has Biswa Gurung as the president and Harka Man Rai as the vice president.
All the advisory committee members along with Ranjana Subba are also on the audit committee on the treasury of the Samity. The president of the newly formed committee, Maya Cintury also addressed the gathering, urging all to work sincerely for social causes irrespective of caste, creed and class.
