GANGTOK, 08 Nov: A 38-year-old man committed suicide by hanging here in East Sikkim yesterday.
According to a written FIR lodged by Nima Lepcha of Rey Busty in East Sikkim, one of his workers a labourer under the supervision of contractor Raj Bir Manger committed suicide by hanging at the newly constructed house of Nima Lepcha at Simick Lingdum, Near PWD Bridge in Ranka, East Sikkim.
The deceased had been working as a labourer since a few months ago and yesterday at around 3 p.m. when other workers were engaged at the site, he went to the terrace of the new building and committed suicide by hanging.
A case under section 174 Criminal Procedure has been lodged in the Sadar Police Station and the case is under investigation.
