GANGTOK, 30 Sept: Contributions are coming in from across the State to aid affected people and areas overcome the earthquake devastation and rebuild lives. Each gesture is important and significant and goes a long way towards reinforcing the Sikkimese society. On such heartwarming gesture was displayed by students of the Shrishti Art Class at Tadong.
Nine children - Anjali Rathi, Sudip Das, Rinika Bhawmik, Darpan Thapa, Joydeep Roy, Shambhu Sarkar, Sheetal Yonzon, Surabhi Pradhan and Aditi Rathi – of Shristhi Art Class, in a bid to raise funds for relief and help the affected recover, made special paintings and sold them. Their collective effort fetched them Rs. 5,500 which has been contributed towards the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
The Shristhi Art Class, run by Bhawani Pradhan and Sarika Tamang, has expressed gratitude towards all who understood and appreciated the effort the children and encouraged the effort by buying their paintings and contributing towards a noble cause.
