GANGTOK, 14 Oct: Four persons were arrested by the Singtam police on 13 October on charges of possession of substances of abuse.
The four were arrested when the vehicle they were travelling in was intercepted by the Singtam Police in the bazaar area following which a thorough search of the vehicle was conducted. This search landed the police with 394 capsules of Spasmo Proxyvon, 15 tablets of N-10 and 1 bottle of Recodex. These substances were found in a polythene bag hidden under the seat cushion, it is informed.
The four arrested are Namgyal Bhutia, 31 of Gangtok; Chandan Lama, 23 of Mangan, Nim Tshering Lepcha, 24 of Mangan and Santosh Kumar Rai, 32 also of Mangan.
It is alleged that the four often brought such substances from Siliguri for selling in the Singtam area. Along with the contraband, the Alto vehicle in which they were travelling has also been seized.
