…LENDS SUPPORT TO GANGTOK RALLY CALLED FOR 24 AUG
GANGTOK, 19 Aug: Disgruntled SDF MLA elected from Upper Burtuk, PS Tamang, has welcomed the formation of ‘Nagarik Adhikar Suraksha Sangathan’, the office-bearers of which were introduced at a press conference held here yesterday.
In a press statement issued today, Mr. Tamang states that the formation of this organization was a welcome development because the State needs a group which will work towards ensuring the civil rights of the people here.
Responding to the NASS call for a protest rally in Gangtok against the State Government’s move to process the Sikkim Prevention and Control of Disturbance Order Bill [since withdrawn], Mr. Tamang has welcomed the call for such a rally and appealed to all “party workers, cheli morcha, youth, government employees and students” to join this rally and make it a success. The rally has been called for 24 August in Gangtok.
