MP takes stock of SICB performance, suggests remedial school for slow learners at Livelihood Schools

GANGTOK, 26 July: Lok Sabha MP, PD Rai, who is also the advisor to the State Institute of Capacity Building (SICB) at Karfectar, visited the Institute today and attended a brief meeting, an official press release informs.
During the course of the meeting, Joint Chief Administrator, KB Pradhan, appraised the house about the framing of Rules and Regulation for all Livelihood Schools and about the preparation of a Training Calendar and establishment of the Livelihood Schools of different trades in all territorial constituencies of the State, the release informs.

Deputy Director (Resource and Coordination), Dr. IBS Yadav, presented the Activities Report from the month of June. Similarly, Deputy Director (Counseling Placement and Examination Cell) of the Institute, Ranjan Rai, presented the challenges being faced and a glance at the placements made so far, in various companies and institutions within and outside the State. 
He informed that, out of 500 trainees who have passed out, 396 trainees have been placed.
Deputy Director (Estate Management), Bipula Sharma, detailed the enrolment status at the Institute, while Deputy Director (Finance and Accounts), K Pradhan, and Deputy Chief Administrator, SK Mothey, presented the details of the status of Accounts and Uniforms respectively. Senior Office Executive, MK Gurung, Sr. Accountant, HT Sherpa, Dhanmaya Sharma and Pramila Chettri also spoke on the occasion highlighting different aspects of the Institute. 
The MP, in his address, highlighted the policy of the State Government and need of skill development for self employment.  He stressed on the need to develop entrepreneurship among the trainees so that they can be self employed. 
He suggested the establishment of Remedial School for slow learners and incorporating environmental, moral and value-aided components and soft skills in the curriculum of the Livelihood School, the release mentions. 
Chief Administrator, SD Dhakal submitted that, these components would be included as soon as possible. Mr Dhakal also informed that the Management Information System for training, placement and post-placement records will be made operational by 15 August this year, the release further informs.
He also thanked the MP for his support to converge the programme of Rural Management and Development Department of Water Harvesting Tanks at seven Livelihood Schools where agriculture and allied sectors are being taught.  Mr Rai also suggested having Continuous and Comprehensive Assessment of trainees for skill improvement.

  1. Why is the Lok Sabha MP only in the limelight, what happened to the other fellow of the Rajya Sabha?? what's he doing??? why is it only PD who is every where - on the SU issue , now this , Let the Rajya Sabha
