2nd Division S-League marches on under hail of goals

GANGTOK, 10 July: It rained goals in the two matches of the Second Division Sikkim League played here at Paljor Stadium on Sunday. A total of 13 goals were scored!
In the first match, Denzong Boys [Junior] defeated RYSFC [Middle Arithang] 3 goals to 1, while in the second match Brotherhood FC [Ranipool] thrashed Bhaley Dara FC [West] by 8 goals to 1.
Passang Wangdi scored a quick brace in the 5th and 6th minute of the match for Denzong Boys, with Bishal Rai of RYSFC [Middle Arithang] reducing the margin with a goal in the 14th minute.

Chandra Prakash added one more goal for Denzong Boys in the 62nd minute.
The second match was one sided and completely dominated by Brotherhood FC.
Milan Lepcha opened the goal account for Brotherhood with his brace in the 8th and 12th minutes followed another brace by Sanjit Subba in the 15th and 25th minutes and his teammate, Sangam Tamang, added one more goal in the 45th minute.
Topden Lepcha brought some relief to Bhaley Dara FC with his goal in the 49th minute but within four minutes Smile Rai scored sixth goal for Brotherhood in the 53rd minute and soon Sanjit Subba completed his hattrick in the 60th minute followed by his fourth goal in the 66th minute.
Likewise, Young Star [Bojoghari] defeated Tibetan Youth Club and FC United [Jorethang] thrashed GVSFA [Central Pendam] in the league on Saturday.
Buddhi Raj Rai scored an early goal for Young Star in the 1st minute of the match, while his teammate Kamal Bagdas scored the second goal in the 66th minute. Tibetan YC players could not score any goals.
In the second match, for FC United, Sanjeev Rai scored goals in the 9th and 25th minute, Santosh BK in the 14th minute and Bikash Thapa in the 39th minute.
The lone goal for GVSFA [Central Pendam] was scored by Reshav Gurung in the 53rd minute.
The next set of matches in the league will be played on 13 July. Lower Arithang FC will take on Young Star FC [Bojoghari] followed by the second match between Sinolchu [Namchi] and Denzong Boys [Junior].
