MANGAN, 25 June: The Block Administration Centre organized review meeting on the Chief Minister Rural Housing Mission (CMRHM) for Lachen-Mangan and Dzongu constituencies at the Mangan BAC on 24 June.
The meeting was chaired by Lachen-Mangan MLA, TW Lepcha, who also chairs the CMRHM committee and was also attended by the BDO Mangan, ST Tamang, ACF, BAC Mangan, SK Subba, BAC staff, Zilla members & Panchayats of different wards.
The Mangan BDO, in his welcome address, informed that the Mission aimed to make Sikkim a kutcha-house free state by the year 2015 and said the pucca houses should be built on a 600 sq. ft plot by the beneficiaries themselves.
He also informed that in the first phase, beneficiaries will be handed over Rs. 50,000 as initial payment to start the work and in the second phase, Rs. 75,000 will be paid out along with 54 GCI sheets. In the third phase Rs. 90,000, and final installment Rs. 1,00,000 will be disbursed to each beneficiary.
The construction is time bound to be completed between 6 months to 1 year and those beneficiaries who complete the construction within 6 months will be provided an additional Rs. 10,000 as incentive.
The total amount of per CMRHM beneficiary has been fixed at Rs. 3.50 lakh, he informed.
The area MLA reminded beneficiaries that the grant was a one-time initiative for them and that they should make the best use of it by constructing themselves a proper house.
He also informed that starting 02 July, a capacity building training was being organized in hotel management, tourist guide, language etc. at Singhik Tourist guest house.
